putting women in their place
that was the sermon title at the Vineyard today on mom's day. And knowing Gary with his earring and non-traditional view of things, he didn't surprise me with his interpretation on 1 Tim. 2. This passage seems to have been directed at the church in Ephesus only. It was a wild church, see Acts 19, and the women were interrupting church meeting, etc.
So today's woman needs to be encouraged and set free by the church do be all God has called her to be. That includes leadership ,too. Her focus is on God , her husband if married, and kids.

I think that was a good word. I believe there has to be a certain level of submission that all women should have to God and their husbands, but in today's world, women need to feel independent on the inside and know that they have accomplished things on their own, so I think it is tantamount that women are encouraged and set free by the church. No more head coverings!
